Terms
How Perfect League works, in plain language.
These terms cover team communication, your account, and billing: what is charged, when, and how cancelling works.
League Messenger
- Perfect League Messenger is for communication among a team’s adult family contacts, coaches, and league staff. Keep messages respectful. Do not post harassment, threats, sexual content, or another person’s private information without permission.
- Report a message from its menu. A report shares your reason, the message’s words, the author’s display name, when and where it was sent, and the reporter with the league’s moderators. No attachment or media URL is included in the email.
- You can block a person or remove your own messages. Coaches can remove messages from their team channels. League moderators can review and remove reported messages without joining the channel.
- You can delete your account from You in Messenger or request deletion through the Privacy page. Deletion applies across every league and linked email address; it erases your stored message content and identifying conversation snapshots. It does not withdraw players or change the league’s roster contacts.
- Reports retain the message content and account identities captured when reported, including after account deletion, for the league’s and the platform’s legal purposes. The Privacy page explains this retention exception.
- If messaging is paused for a league, you can still read, report, remove messages you may remove, change notification preferences, and delete your account.
The plan and the month
- One plan: 35¢ per active player per month, with a $9 minimum, plus applicable tax.
- A player is active in a month when they are on a roster in a live division at any point in it, counted once per league however many divisions or sports they are in.
- Months are calendar months. No month is prorated: a league active on any day of a month is billed for that month.
- Archive a season and its players stop counting from the next month; the month you archive it still counts.
The card on file and the free period
- A new league keeps a card on file from the day it is set up; its first at least 30 days are free.
- Your first billed month is the first full month after the free period. Each month is charged around the first of the following month, on the invoice for that month.
- You are not charged before the invoice for your first billed month.
- A league that returns after cancelling starts billing again the month it returns; there is no second free period.
- Founding leagues, created during early access, have their own terms below.
If a payment fails
- A failed payment is retried. The league stays fully usable while it is; updating the card on the Billing page avoids a pause.
- When the retries are exhausted, or an invoice is marked uncollectible, the league becomes read-only: everything stays readable, nothing can be changed, and nothing is deleted, archived, or exported away.
- To restore it, put a card on file if there is none, then pay every unsettled invoice, oldest first; writes resume when the last one clears.
- If the subscription itself ended — after a cancellation, or a lapse that ran its course — restoring billing means completing card setup again; anything still owed stays owed.
- Nothing is ever deleted because of a billing problem.
Cancelling
- You can cancel from the Billing page at any time. Once service has begun, the month you cancel in is the final billing month and the league becomes read-only when the next billing month begins; before service has begun, it becomes read-only at the scheduled start. The page shows this before you confirm.
- A month already begun is billed as one more invoice. Invoices already open stay owed.
- You can withdraw a cancellation until it takes effect. After it, the league is read-only and stays readable; nothing is deleted.
Founding leagues
- A league created during early access pays half for two years from its first billed month. The half is rounded down to the cent; the league keeps the half cent.
- Founding leagues are told at least 90 days before their first charge, and add a card by the date in that notice.
Payments
- Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe directly; we never see the card number.
- Invoices and receipts come from Stripe on our behalf. Stripe shows the plan at $0.00 a month; the monthly usage line is the charge.
